An exquisite collection of art is now on display at the iconic Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City. From January 19th through April 10th, the legendary retailer will host The Chairish Art Gallery – an inaugural brick-and-mortar exhibit from Chairish, the premier online marketplace for rare and vintage home decor.

Spread across five imaginatively designed rooms on Bergdorf’s seventh floor, the gallery features over 300 original artworks from 30 artists. Vibrant pop art, glamorous fashion illustrations, contemporary landscapes, and more are all represented. This specially curated selection is exclusive to the in-store experience and promises to delight art aficionados and design lovers alike.

Kicking off the exhibit is a dazzling gallery wall showcasing pop artist Ron Giusti. His one-of-a-kind painted tiles make a lively statement, combining familiar brand imagery with Giusti’s signature bold and graphic style. This gallery area devoted solely to Giusti’s work celebrates the artist as one of Chairish’s most coveted contemporary creators.

Nearby, The Fashion Editor’s Apartment channels the glamorous and highly personal spaces of America’s legendary female tastemakers. Here, Rebecca Jack’s vibrant, figurative works dance across the walls, capturing the female form with fluid, expressive brushstrokes. Jack’s paintings mingle with the colorful abstractions of Sean Kratzert, whose geometric works offer an interplay of shape and texture. Fashion illustrations by Manuel Santelices bring sartorial flair, lining the space with his signature figures in chic attire.

The central room celebrates American Craft, with exclusive portraiture from collage artist Susannah Carson and photographer Daniel Falcón. Their pieces spotlight diverse faces, drawing viewers in with intimate, humanizing details. This focus on portraiture provides an emotional anchor point amidst the exhibit’s lush visual feast.

The Winter Conservatory room flourishes with still lifes, photography, and modernist landscapes. London-based Venetia Syms’ refined pieces exude polished perfection. Photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank captures botanical arrangements with a vibrant, painterly eye. Works from Bridgehampton’s own Bill Tansey round out the room, his atmospheric landscapes brooding beautifully across large canvases.

Finally, the New York-themed Ode to New York space brims with cheerful illustrations celebrating Gotham’s cocktail culture. Beloved local artists like Happy Menocal capture the city’s iconic skyline and architectural details with flair. It’s a cozy, sophisticated denouement befitting the storied Bergdorf Goodman.

As Chairish President Anna Brockway noted, “There is no better partner for Chairish’s first shop than Bergdorf Goodman.” Indeed, the pairing of these two iconic brands offers visitors a novel chance to browse one-of-a-kind art in the retail temple of Fifth Avenue. This stunning exhibit is not to be missed during its limited run.
